Abby is a smarty pants and I mean that in a good way. I really think she's smart...and cute. She loves letters. She has been so motivated to learn how to write her letters and now that she knows the sounds letters make she wants to write words. She tries to write words on her own. The other day she came up to me with this:
MT LFR and asked if that was how to spell Mount Loafer. I was pretty impressed.
A few days later it was FT SVN ... meant to be Forty Seven.
Today she spelled for, pig, big and dog by herself and all correct! She also spelled CISMS (Christmas), CAVIN (Kevin) and forty seven has now become FTE SAVN. We're slowly getting those vowel sounds in there, but she does really well with the consonants. I'm a proud mom!
On a completely different subject...
The BYU football team is now ranked #23 in two different polls. Go Cougars! I'm a big Bronco Mendenhall fan and CougarFan is selling a shirt that says "Thanks Kyle...no seriously." I'm sure Coach Whittingham is a great guy, but I'm SO glad he passed on BYU and that Bronco got the job!

Wow! She is so smart. I hope Will will be as smart as her. He knows most of his letters and can tell me the sounds of some of them but he won't be trying to write them for a long time. Way to go Abby! You're a proud mom and I'm a proud aunt.
Abby has always seemed like she is older than she really is. She is one of the most mature little girls I've ever met. I'm impressed with her efforts to spell. I wish we could spell like she is doing right now -- who needs vowels anyway?!
Good for her!!!
