From last weekend...

My dad and my brother and his family came over for a bbq and fireworks on the 4th of July. The girls had so much fun with the sparklers (until Leah burnt her foot...oops...maybe now she'll listen to me when I tell her to keep her shoes on) and watching the fireworks. I love that little kids are so easily pleased! This one was a little loud for them though.

Saturday we went up Mill Creek Canyon and went on a short hike with the girls. Abby is never happy when it's time to turn around...one of these days we'll take her on a hike long enough to wear her out. Lauren wanted to walk and touch all of the plants we walked by. Leah is always happy just to be outside!

After the hike we found a picnic site and roasted hot dogs and made smores. That part of the day was a struggle for Lauren. She would drop her food on the ground and then pick it up and eat it. She'd get dirt in her mouth, so she'd try to wipe it off with her even dirtier hands. Then she'd throw a fit. I would wash her hands and face, then she'd want new food and it would start all over again! She didn't enjoy dinner much, but at least she's still cute with dirt all over her face!

P.S. In case the multiple "..." and "!" weren't a total give away this post was made by Jen. I've now made three of the last nine posts...which puts me at 33%

Cute pictures! And you are right, Lauren looks adorable even with dirt on her face! (and, yes, I'm a fan of "!", too)

Looks like fun! I miss SLC canyons so much. Gorgeous! I can't believe that Lauren is soo blonde now too. Your brunette babies can't keep it brown. But they're stinkin' cute! It was so much fun to talk to you, Jen. Thanks for the call! I loved it.

That is one of the most beautiful pictures I have ever seen. The one of Lauren at the bottom of the post. I would love to have it. If you can send me a copy digitally that would be wonderful. Not just a love res. jpeg. I want a good copy of that one. It is wonderful.

Tell Mark that that is his grandaugter.
