Maps and Church

I was browsing tech.lds.org recently and came across a post about mapping. Many of you (LDS folks) when you move to a new place have used the Meetinghouse Locater tool where you punch in your address and it lists the local wards in the area. Well now they've tied that information to a map (wohoo!). This service is found by either going to maps.lds.org or www.mormon.org.

The cool thing about this is it does two things:
  1. Lists nearest chapels from an address you punch in. This could be good when you're traveling or on vacation and need to find a building to atttend church in.
  2. Lists the ward you're assigned to if you live at the address you punched in. BUT, not only does it list the likely family ward, but a single adult ward, foreign ward (in my case, Tongan, Samoa, or Hispanic), or deaf ward.
Yes, there really are 4 (!) LDS meetinghouses within a half mile of my home.

I didn't even know such a thing existed. I'll have fun looking at this one.
