Jen and I are now officially both in our 30's. I've been there for a year and a half, but she just made her grand entrance today. She hasn't really been looking forward to this birthday for a while and I'll admit that when I turned 30, I felt like "Wow, I'm 30 now. There's no looking back." Being in your 20's means you are still somewhat cool and in touch with what "cool" is. When you hit 30, that means you have to be responsible, mature, and, well, adultish. So while I don't mind being in the 30's, it did feel weird thinking I was that old.
Jen shares her birthday with my brother, Jason. He turned 39 today so he's got another mental hurdle to overcome next year.
Last night Jen's dad and sister came over and put posters / banners up on our house and garage saying "Look who's 30" and "Happy Birthday." They also put a bunch of stuff in our lawn to remind Jen every time she looked outside just how old she was turning. It was great! Tonight Jen's dad and sister came back, but this time to watch the girls while Jen and I went to dinner. They also brought over cake for dessert when we came back.
I'm lucky to have Jen and glad that I get to celebrate her birthdays with her.

Happy birthday Jen.
Remind Jess that no matter what, he'll always be older than you.
