My brother, the hero

As I mentioned in the last post, my brother Ammon was selected as the BYU Football "Thursday Hero." Luckily, family and close friends were invited to participate. My mother posted a good outline of events and some pictures. Here are some of the pictures we took.

Each player has a chisel and a few are selected before each game to take a piece of granite out. They are carving around the Y and it's essentially an embossed decal now.

We got a tour of the locker room. Interesting how all the big names are right next to each other.

Ammon waiting just outside the team huddle. Immediately after they wrapped up their practice, Ammon was welcomed into the circle. He led the team cheer at the end and then three players presented him with gifts. It's fun to see the faces of the players.

Here's the group of us surrounding Ammon. Included are Brandon Doman, Coach Mendenhall, and Max Hall.

I just happened to read about this on Ammon's blog. How COOL is that?! Such an honor and inspiring moment. Glad you got to go and watch such an uplifting event. I love the granite rock with the Y being chiseled.
